This Privacy Policy explains how CeeCipe ("CeeCipe", "we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, stores, and shares information when you use our iOS app and related services (together, the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.
Information We Collect
The information we collect depends on how you use CeeCipe. It may include:
- Recipe text, recipe links, notes, photos, imported page previews, and generated recipes.
- Meal plans, cooking progress, shopping list items, saved recipes, and recipe interactions.
- Preferences such as age range, cooking goals, dietary preferences, allergies, restrictions, and recipe sources.
- Purchase and subscription status, if you use paid features.
- Messages, support requests, feedback, or other information you send to us.
- Device, app, diagnostics, crash, usage, and configuration information needed to operate the Service.
Photos, Camera, and Imported Content
If you grant permission, CeeCipe can access the camera or selected photos so you can turn a dish photo into a recipe. If you share a link or page into the app, CeeCipe may process that link, page preview, metadata, and visible recipe content to extract recipe details. You control which photos, links, and content you provide. You can change camera and photo permissions in iOS Settings.
Usage Data and Online Technologies
When you use the Service, we and our service providers may collect technical and usage data, such as app version, device model, operating system version, approximate region, IP address, crash logs, performance data, screens or features used, and timestamps. This data helps us keep the Service secure, understand usage, diagnose issues, and improve CeeCipe.
Sensitive Information
CeeCipe may ask about allergies, dietary restrictions, nutrition goals, and related food preferences so the app can personalize recipe and meal planning features. This information may be considered sensitive in some jurisdictions. Please provide it only if you want the app to use it for those features.
Storage and Sync
Recipe, meal planning, cart, and preference data may be stored locally on your device. If iCloud is enabled for the app, that data may sync through Apple's private iCloud database associated with your Apple ID. Apple processes iCloud data under Apple's privacy terms. Data stored locally or in iCloud may remain until you delete it in the app, remove the app, or manage it through your Apple account and device settings.
Third-Party Services
CeeCipe may use trusted third-party services to operate and improve the app, including:
- Firebase, for app configuration, diagnostics, and related infrastructure.
- RevenueCat, to manage in-app purchase and subscription status.
- Adjust, for attribution and measurement where permitted by your device settings.
- AI service providers, to extract, generate, or improve recipe content you submit.
- Apple services, including App Store payments and iCloud sync.
These services may receive technical information such as device identifiers, app version, purchase status, diagnostics, configuration data, or the content needed to provide the requested feature. Their processing is governed by their own privacy policies.
How We Use Information
We use information to:
- Provide, maintain, and personalize CeeCipe features.
- Import, extract, organize, sync, and display recipes and related content.
- Generate recipe, cooking, shopping, and meal planning suggestions.
- Process purchases, subscriptions, and entitlement status.
- Respond to support requests, feedback, and other communications.
- Analyze reliability, diagnose crashes, improve performance, and develop new features.
- Protect the Service, prevent abuse, enforce our Terms, and comply with legal obligations.
Tracking and Analytics Choices
Where required, CeeCipe asks for permission before using data for tracking across apps and websites owned by other companies. You can change tracking permissions in iOS Settings. You can also manage photo, camera, notification, and iCloud permissions in iOS Settings.
Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We may share information:
- With service providers that help us operate, analyze, secure, or improve the Service.
- When you ask us to process content through a feature, such as recipe extraction or AI generation.
- With Apple, RevenueCat, or other providers needed to manage purchases and subscriptions.
- With Firebase, Adjust, or similar providers for diagnostics, configuration, attribution, or analytics where permitted.
- When required by law, legal process, or government request.
- To protect the rights, safety, security, and integrity of users, us, or the Service.
- As part of a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of assets, subject to appropriate safeguards.
- With your consent or at your direction.
International Processing
We and our service providers may process and store information in countries other than the country where you live. Those countries may have different data protection laws. When we transfer information, we take reasonable steps designed to protect it in line with this Privacy Policy.
Data Retention
We retain information for as long as needed to provide the app, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and maintain security. Data stored locally or in iCloud may remain until you delete it from the app, remove the app, or manage it through your Apple account settings.
Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information. No electronic transmission or storage system is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for keeping your devices, Apple ID, and any relevant accounts secure.
Children
CeeCipe is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can take appropriate action.
Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export your personal information, or to object to or restrict certain processing. To make a request, contact us using the contact information below.
If you are located in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, California, Virginia, or another region with privacy rights, you may have additional rights under local law. These rights may include the right to know what information we collect, request deletion, correct inaccurate information, obtain a portable copy, opt out of certain processing, or withdraw consent where processing is based on consent. We may need to verify your identity before responding to a request.
Deletion
You can delete app content through available app and device controls. For information held by us or our service providers outside your device or iCloud account, contact us and we will respond within a reasonable period. We may retain information where needed for legal, security, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, backup, or operational reasons.
Third-Party Links and Content
CeeCipe may let you import recipes from third-party websites or apps, and the Service may include links to external sites. We do not control and are not responsible for third-party content, websites, services, or privacy practices. Review their policies before providing information to them.
Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date above. If changes are material, we may provide additional notice in the app or by other reasonable means. Continued use of CeeCipe after an update means the updated policy applies.
